 
Irving Amen Signed Color Lithograph - Chess Strategy
Vintage limited edition lithograph by listed artist Irving Amen that depicts two chess player and a group of onlookers. The print is in wonderful condition and measures 13 1/2" x 17 1/2". It is signed, titled, and numbered in pencil by the artist. This print is number 15 of 300 and was never framed.
Irving Amen is a twentieth century sculptor, painter, etcher, silk-screen and woodcut artist. He studied at the Art Students League in New York and at the Academy Grande Chaumiere in Paris. Besides practicing his art, Amen also taught classes in sculptor and printmaking at such influential schools as the Pratt Institute (1961) and at Notre Dame University (1962). His art was exhibited with the Society of American Graphic Artists, the Library of Congress and the National Academy of Design. In 1949 the Smithsonian Institution also launched a one man exhibition of his work. Amen's famous art is now included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Bibliotheque Royale, Brussels, the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris.
