
 
1930s 14K White Gold Art Deco Ring with Natural Blue Grey Star Sapphire - 9 Carats
Beautiful star sapphire ring from the early 1930s. This ring has an Art Deco 14k white gold setting with a cabochon cut natural star sapphire. The sapphire is medium light, grayish, blue in color and measures 13mm by 10.8mm weighing approx. 9 carats. It is accented by 6 full cut diamonds, for 0.06 ct. TDW (clarity SI1, H-I color). Natural star sapphires were favored by the 1930s Hollywood glamor set. Jean Harlow, Carole Lombard, Joan Crawford, and Myrna Loy all had star sapphire rings. The ring belonging to Jean Harlow was the most famous at 150 carats, a gift from actor William Powell.
